Tashlikh
Come join for the ritual of "casting off," an opportunity to reflect on the outgoing year and imagine the incoming one.
Tashlikh is a ritual which invites us to physically embody the spiritual practice of teshuva (return, repair) by merging soul-accounting contemplation with the material action of casting stones* into the water.
4:30-6:30pm in Parc Daisy Peterson Sweeney (2652 rue Rufus-Rockhead).
We will start with a kid-centric version of tashlikh oriented towards our youngest kehilla members (but open to all ages) and move into havruta (partnered study) with some questions and short texts, storytelling, and song. You are encouraged to bring musical instruments!
*while many have the custom of throwing bread into the water during Tashlikh, we have opted to instead throw pebbles or stones because it is less disruptive to the sacred aquatic ecosystems.
